Something Old, Something New is a complete departure from my usual historical romance novels.
This one is a contemporary tale of a young woman, Samantha (Sam), who tries to come to terms with her new life when her husband suddenly announces he wants a divorce.
When she moves back to Barton upon Humber to live in an old house that her granny left her, she decides to make the most of it. She is delighted to find that her new neighbour is her old friend, Jenny, who is still in touch with Helen, her other long-lost friend. Through them she meets Becky and finds her life becoming more settled.
She has an old walled-garden which she can't get into and asks the help of a young gardener she finds digging in St. Peter's churchyard. This is her first faux pas as he turns out to be an archaeologist, and then when she mistakes his brother for a vicar, the day couldn't get much worse!
Follow Sam's journey through her emotional and sometimes tricky misunderstandings in the world we know today.
